Welcome to the instructional website, Can You Keep Your Operations in Order?

This website contains lectures, assignments, and a game to help you understand the importance of order and to aid in solving an expression using the correct mathematical operations. Using the correct order is important, as there are many possible answers when we each use our own method.

Some of us have been taught the saying, “Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally” – Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. While this tool is helpful in remembering the order, the lectures included go more in depth and explain just how the order should work.

You may move around the website at your own pace, paying close attention to the topics where you may need extra time. Please review, revisit, and redo assignments as necessary. Just remember, every section must be reviewed and every assignment must be completed in order to receive credit.
